M'hamed Sahraoui is an architect, urban planner and one of the pioneers of private real estate development in Algeria.
He started in the profession in 1968 in the architecture workshop of the ECOTEC company, in 1970 he joined the BET of the ANP of Hussein Dey during his national service, in 1972 he joined the ministry of culture and works on historical monuments.
In 1975, he obtained his architect's approval and set up his office in central Algiers, where he began his great adventure, accompanied by two designers; In a few years his office became the most important private office in Algiers with some 70 people working on hundreds of projects.
During his career of more than 40 years, he worked on more than 900 projects spread across some 36 wilayas. Among his achievements; The residence of the two basins, the Urban City 2000, the competition of the great mosque of Algiers, the Annassers promontory, various educational and cultural structures throughout the country, the Boumerdes shopping center, the Parisienne building in Algiers Center and the replica of the waterfall house….
He is also the publisher of several works including the architectural magazine “Amenhis”
M'hamed Sahraoui died in 2022 at the age of 79, several of his projects did not see the light of day or remained unfinished.

بدأ مزاولة المهنة عام 1968 في ورشة الهندسة المعمارية لشركة ECOTEC، في عام 1970 التحق بمكتب الدراسات للجيش الوطني أثناء خدمته الوطنية، في عام 1972 التحق بوزارة الثقافة وعمل على المعالم التاريخية.
في عام 1975، حصل على اعتماد الهندسة المعمارية وأنشأ مكتبه في الجزائر الوسطى، حيث بدأت مغامرته الكبيرة برفقة اثنين من المصممين، في غضون سنوات قليلة أصبح مكتبه أهم مكتب خاص في الجزائر العاصمة يضم حوالي 70 شخصًا تعمل على مئات المشاريع.
خلال مسيرته المهنية التي امتدت لأكثر من 40 عامًا، عمل على أكثر من 900 مشروع موزعة على 36 ولاية. من إنجازاته؛ إقامة الحوضين، المدينة الحضرية 2000، منافسة المسجد الكبير بالجزائر العاصمة، رعن الناصر، هياكل تعليمية وثقافية مختلفة في جميع أنحاء البلاد، مركز التسوق بومرداس، ونسخة طبق الأصل من بيت الشلال….
هو أيضًا ناشر لعدة أعمال منها المجلة المعمارية "أمنحيس"
توفي محمد الصحراوي عام 2022 عن عمر يناهز 79 عامًا، ولم ترى العديد من مشاريعه النور أو ظلت غير مكتملة.
